Curious George’s Christmas

Christmas time is such a special time of the year. Everywhere you go, people are wishing you a happy Christmas, or happy holiday…there is joyful music playing in the background of each department store, even the grocery stores…people seem to put on their best for this time of the year. One thing that seems to be on everyone’s mind, “What should I get my loved ones for Christmas this year?”

The other night I was watching Curious George’s Christmas with my grandson. It was an interesting movie for sure, but it seemed like the main theme was what to get each other for Christmas. George didn’t know what to get for his owner, and his owner didn’t know what to get for him. So they would go to all the Christmas festivities, and as each day got closer, the more worried they would get about what to get for each other.

In the end of the movie, they realize that really what they wanted was each other more than anything, and the gifts they got for each other showed this. I have a friend who loves to get gifts, this is his love language. He had told me that it doesn’t matter how much the gift cost, but the gift has to have meaning. In other words, he doesn’t like to get gifts just to get gifts. What about you?

So this Christmas, as your out and about, listening to the joyful music, saying Merry Christmas to each person you see, shopping for that perfect gift…remember, it doesn’t have to cost a lot, but it has to have meaning behind it. For me, Christmas is about celebrating Christ’s birth, and I know this gift cost a lot…but I know there is more meaning behind this gift than the amount that it cost, it’s the way God showed you and me that He desires to be with us more than anything. Have a Merry Christmas! God bless you
