There was this show that was on the air for quite some time, maybe you remember it, maybe
you watched it, maybe you laughed as hard as I did while watching the show…Frazier. This
show is about a Psychologist and his family. Frazier is the psychologist, and he has his own radio
show, and the show airs daily. I don’t want to give too much of the show away, if you have
never watched it, or if you want to watch it, you can still see it on Netflix, my wife and I still
watch it often, it’s always good to laugh, and this show makes us laugh!
One Sunday night, I was awake by myself, and I needed some laughter, so I was watching this
show. It was the last two episodes of the show, and they were funny! At the end of each show,
Frazier says, “Goodnight Seattle.” Well, this particular show, since it was the last one, he said a
final, “Goodnight Seattle.” I have to admit, after he said those words, I felt a tear go down my
cheek. I know what you’re thinking, “if this is a show that makes you laugh, then why are you
crying?” Or you may be thinking, “you’re a man, you’re not suppose to cry!” Believe me, I had
those same thoughts too!
But how many of us get sad when something so good ends? Why can’t they just continue on
forever? I have had some great things in my life come to an end, some by choice and others not
by choice. I have had some very dear loved ones’ lives come to an end here on this earth, and
seen the hardship it has caused in others lives, the sadness and the pain. I ask, “why couldn’t
they just live forever?” What about our pets, pets that become part of our family, how come
they don’t live forever?
If you’re anything like me, then you have asked yourself these questions. I am not about to try
to answer any of these questions for you right now…but let’s talk about things that need to
end! Have you ever watched a show and wonder how could a show that terrible continue on
for so long, and then it finally ends, and you are so thankful!
This year, 2019, let’s take a look at our lives and ask ourselves if there is something that needs
to end! Maybe, just maybe, you have one of those BAD episodes going on in your life, and it’s
time to put it to bed, to make your home a better place! Let’s call it, “Goodnight…(you fill in the
blank). Goodnight 2018, and now I look forward to 2019, how about you?
Happy New Year! God bless your new year and may He fill all your needs in this new year! Make
good choices this year! Come by and hang out with me and we can talk more!
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold all
things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
